It may take more energy for you to get up and refill water glasses, or get up and use the bathroom frequently. Despite these hardships, it’s vital that you continue to drink plenty of fluids.
Pay attention to what medications you are taking. Some medicines might make it even more important for you to have plenty of fluids. Drink a full glass of water if you need to take a pill.
Have a glass of water before you exercise or go outside – even just to garden or walk. Remember, water is a good way to add fluids to your daily routine without adding calories.
To help limit your calorie intake and to stay healthy, limit soft drinks and sports drinks that are high in added sugars. They are empty calories. Alcoholic beverages also give you calories without nutrients.
Remember, water is always the best choice. Most nutritionists recommend at least six glasses of water today. If you can drink eight glasses of water, you’re a rock star!
